When did the term, "Racist", become an alternate term for Caucasian? 'What am I talking about?' When you hear the term "Racist" or "Racism", what pops into your head? If you are like the vast majority of people, regardless of your racial origin, usually the picture that comes to mind is some, pale white, and often, fat Caucasian man, with a scowl on his face, or some white, male, bald guy ("Skin-Head"). This is how the evening new and movies depict 'racism' or a 'racist'. Of course, this is 'stereotyping' at its worst.
Rev. Jessie Jackson and the NAACP both say they are trying to rid this country of racism, but are they really? When was the last time you saw a "Ms. Black America" contest being protested by the NAACP or Rev. Jessie Jackson. What about BET (Black Entertainment Television), have you ever heard of the Rainbow Coalition or NAACP calling for a boycott of this openly racist network? Of course not! These are viewed as, "Being Proud of your Heritage!". The truth of the matter is, if a "Ms. White America" contest or a "WTN" (White Television Network) came along, the Rev. Jessie Jackson, NAACP, Al Sharpton and ever other self proclaimed champion of the black people in this country, would be filing discrimination law suits by the dozens, and every News organization would be there covering ever move made. 'Ms. Black America', BET, Black History Month, etc., when you get down to the heart of the subject, are examples of "RACISM" as well as the Double Standards that have evolved in this country.
Rev. Jessie Jackson, NAACP, Al Sharpton, Louis Farakahn, and a host of others, are dependant upon 'racism' being promoted, in order to assure their status and media lime light. As these people's livelihood depend on 'Racism', does anyone really expect them to do anything but what they have done: Agitate and promote racism at every opportunity, as it is job security for them. If racism was wiped out overnight, these people would be lost and out of a job. These jobs generate quite a bit of revenue for those who use racism to make their money. Lawyers such as Johnny Cochran, and the ACLU as a whole would loose millions in revenue every year, if racism was done away with. Rev. Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farakahn all rely on the 'racism' card, as it has been called, to draw their followers, which also means they are of like mind, and therefore racist themselves, all under the guise of being religious organization affiliated (note to these so-called men of God, God ain't about the color of your skin, but rather the nature of your heart). Of course, the NAACP and Rainbow Coalition would disappear as well, without racism being a viable issue in this country. And in all fairness the Klu Klux Klan would all but all but disappear as well, as would many other white supremacy groups. For with out the racism issue, these groups would have their biggest drawing card, taken from them.
Why would I make the charge that the NAACP, the Rainbow Coalition (Rev. Jessie Jackson), Al Sharpton, and Louis Farakahn are promoting racism? I site examples to make my point: An incident at a high school in Southern Illinois, where a fight at a ballgame in the stands resulted in several black children being suspended because they were found to be the one's that started the fight. The school had a "Zero Tolerance" policy about violence on school grounds & events, which the suspended students knew about, however due to the color of their skin, Mr. J. Jackson and the NAACP shows up on the High School's door steps and begin a protest, claiming it was racially motivated, and demanding these suspended students be re-instated in school. This causes the parents of the other non-black children in the school to get mad that special allowances are being made because of the accused children's race, and thus promote bad feelings towards blacks. Another example, is the case where the Tennessee man was shot to death by a group of blacks because he had the Confederate flag in the back window of his truck. Their defense was based on the concept that it was justified because the Confederate Flag is a symbol of slavery (another falsehood, but that is another discussion). Another example of the promotion of Racism it the so-called, "Hate Crime" legislation. As I have said in another article, murder is murder and should not depend on a person's race, religion, sex or social standing as to punishment prescribed. However Rev. Jessie Jackson on the TV program, "Crossfire", on October 23, 2000, during the course of the program, continued to blast Governor Bush for not pushing through a Hate Crime bill in Texas. One last incident, the L.A. Riots are another example of the race card being played in order to justify criminal actions of blacks that burned, shoot and looted businesses and non-black citizens in the L.A. area.
If racism is to be defeated in our life time, it must not be so profitable to promote it! Black Americans as well as all other races in American, need to refuse to give into those that would use race to incite division our citizens. Affirmative action IS a bad program, for it promotes the use of people who are, in many cases, less qualified for a job, solely based on their race, which not only causes hard feelings towards the minorities and opposite sex, but also causes the business to suffer, due to having to pass up the better person for the job based only on his race (which is reverse discrimination ). True "Equality" can not be legislated, for all men were NOT truly created equal... if we were, EVERYONE would be able to be a Babe Ruth, Michael Jordon and Albert Einstein, and no one would be special in any way. If you were putting together a basketball team and Hillary Clinton was bidding for the same position as Michael Jordon, who do you think should get the position? Michael, of course. But if Larry Bird and Gary Coleman were up for the same position and all the other position on the team were filled by Caucasians, who do you think should get the position? Larry right, but not according to Affirmative action, and that being the case, Gary could file a law suit against the team and demand to be given that position, and probably win! Similar instances happen far more frequently that most people won't to know about.
The term "Racism" is used far too lop-sidedly in this country. It is all too often held over an employer's head to prevent him from removing non-productive personnel and hiring people more qualified for the job. And 99.5% of the employees using their race to protect their jobs are blacks. A black employer can fire a white or any other color employee with impunity, but not a white employer firing a black employee. Double Standards are far too prevalent in this country, and for the most part we all just complain under our breath and go on about our lives. Equality means equal treatment under the law, not that you have a right to whatever job you want, whether you are best qualified for the job. NO ONE should ever be turn away from a job because of the race, religion (barring religious based jobs - you wouldn't want a Baptist Minister being the Pope), sex or age (I didn't include sexual preference as that is something that should be kept in the bedroom and not the job place) or social status.
'Discrimination' is a relative term, as we all discriminate in one form or fashion, every day, from deciding what clothes we wear to work, to what foods we want to eat, to who we date and/or marry. I am not saying for an instant that "Racism" or Race-based discrimination doesn't exist, or that it isn't a bad thing. What I AM SAYING is that in order to banish racism, we need to address it uniformly and across the board. We need to get rid of these double standards and special circumstance clauses in the laws and treat EVERYONE regardless of your race, equally under the law, and stop using "Racism" as the great EXCUSE as to why a person of any color failed to achieve the goal placed before them, whether it was to get a particular job or get into a particular college. We have to treat nasty names, as just that, NASTY NAME, and give them no further gravity, unless we treat all racial slurs with the same resolve. Calling some one a "Nigger" regardless of their color should be no worse that some one calling them a "Son of a Bitch", both terms refer to the subject as sub-human, and should be treated equally under the law. Only when we realizes such truths, will racism really be on its way out, but until then it will only be an excuse for one race to abuse and take advantage of other races.
