Once upon a time, there was this wild ideal that was commonly shared by a large group of people that there was a difference between "Right and Wrong". Laws were created using this wild concept, and believe it or not, people were expected to follow these laws. However, if they didn't, then a "Just" punishment was prescribed under the law. This made people happy, because they knew were they stood in the scheme of things - you wrong someone and you are punished, or if someone wrongs you then they are punished, it was very nearly that simple. Once upon a time, that was the way things were, once upon a time you could tell "Right" from "Wrong", cause it was clearly defined. Sadly, that was then, and this is now!
Now, there is no way to easily know "Right" from "Wrong", but instead only shades of both. People are not expected to face the consequences of their actions, but rather allowed to blame it on the first thing that comes to mind - their environment, teachers, friends, family, relations, manufacturers, past lives, society, and etc. The number of things to blame, other than ourselves seem endless. And our once great society, is beginning to show the signs for this thinking. A taint, or stink, if you will, is gradually increasing in strength, and because it is a gradual process, most of us are oblivious to its presence, and fail to comprehend what is happening to our society. We are pummeled constantly with ever increasingly ambiguous rulings by our "Justice system" on various circumstances and situations that they say must not fall under that particular rule of law, and thus the line begin to blur.
It wasn't all that long ago, that "Right" and "Wrong" was easily distinguishable from one another, for not only did our so-called "Justice System", blur the lines, but so has the rest of Government, along with Hollywood and even our Public schools with a steady, though gradual, attack on the notion of "Right" and "Wrong" to the point that it is no longer an acceptable concept, by most. Laws are only followed if they are vague enough that widely diversified interpretations can be readily deduced by each reader. "Letter of the Law" is a laughable term, that has no substance to it, for it depends on WHO is reading the law, as to what it means. Our national colors of RED, WHITE, and BLUE, are soon to be replace by several shades of GRAY, in order to more accurately depict our society's moral aptitude!
With no appreciable difference between "Right" and "Wrong", why is it so hard to believe that children are so ready to take a firearm to solve social problems or make a statement; why is it so far fetched that Al Gore's 2000 Campaign would use any means possible to win a presidential election; and is it so hard to believe the disgraceful and illegal acts of Bill Clinton, were over looked? Without setting and standing by the differences in "Right" and "Wrong" or in other words having high moral standards for the country as a whole, our society will continue to degrade, until Chaos will be the rule, and laws will mean nothing, other than smoke and mirrors used by the government to justify their drive to totally control our lives.
It is time, while there still is time, for the American people to put their foot down and say enough is enough! We need to say we won't put up with all this garbage, and we want laws with wiggle room, re-written to where they mean what they say, and in plain easy to understand language, WITHOUT the 'wiggle-room'. WE don't want any more of "Define "IS", defenses! And those that break the laws must be held directly accountable for their activities and/or actions. Only when the majority of Americans stand up and put their foot down and tune out the liberal media, and start thinking for themselves, and using common sense (which seems to become more rare a commodity with each passing day), will we be able to save our country and restore it to its once Greatness, as the Beckon of Light in the darkness, the land of Truth and Justice, where honor and dignity are in abundance, and deceit and perversion are a rarity!
