Penalized for being Successful

Once upon a time, in this country, being "Successful" was looked upon as being the ultimate goal for every school boy and girl.  However, that is no longer the case, according to the Liberals for the most part.  So when did it become a blight upon one's self to be successful in this country?  It is hard to say for sure, but the 1990's seem to be the decade that it really took hold.  The liberals have been very successful, if I dare use these word to describe what they have done, in convincing many Blue-collar and poor, that those that have been able to become financially successfully and or independent, are to be shunned and penalized for their achievements.  Again, I ask why is this so?

The 2000 election has really brought out the liberals in full force, who want to make all those who make under $100,000 year, think that they should be for a government that would penalize those that meet or exceed that level of income or worth, merely because they dare to be successful, when many others haven't made it yet.  Some how those who have reached this level of income or worth, crossed the threshold to where they supposed to have less rights to fair and equal treatment under the law.  The liberals in the news media and government, use this "Class warfare" to divide the American people into the "Have's" and "Have Not's", which in their eyes the "Have Not's" are the good guys and the "Have's" are the evil rich people who have dared to have wealth.  It matters not that the vast majority of  these "Have's" had to work hard, and sacrifice a great deal of their life in order to actually reach the their current level of wealth and or success.  The problem is that those who are truly wealthy are a voting minority, and since ENVY is such an easy emotion to play upon, the liberal politicians attack the wealthy as well those who make more than $100,000.00 per year cause they know they can get a large number of those in the lower income brackets to believe that some how those "Have's" should be willing to hand over more than their equal share.  This is best illustrated by the spite and venom in the voice of the liberal politicians as they denounce tax reform that proposes to give everyone an equal tax relief.  When looked at by the amount the upper 1 - 5% of the tax payers would receive back due to these cuts, it seems very unfair, but what the liberal fail to mention is that this "Upper 1 - 5%" pays a great deal more in taxes and pay a greater percentage of their income in taxes.  The penalty for being successful!   The facts are that 5% of our population pay 75% of the taxes in this country, and that 5% doesn't come from the Blue-Collar sector!  Now I ask you, is that fair!

America is supposed to be a place where those that want to really work hard and apply themselves, can become successful and/or wealthy (we say "and/or" because "Success" isn't always measured in monetary measures).  It is also supposed to be a place where everyone has equality under the law, but as we are not all created with the same abilities and therefore are not all equal in that respect, is it the American way to penalize those who have been bless with the abilities to make full use of the situation in which they find themselves to better themselves, which in some case mean financial independence.  Of course, the current tax laws are not fair to anyone who makes a taxable income, and are truly unconstitutional.  If "Fair" was the major concern of the politicians, then a flat tax of some sort would be placed on everyone, regardless of their income level, or the total elimination of the Income Tax system all together, and replacing it with a Federal Sales Tax or to be completely Constitutionally correct, Excise taxes and tariffs on imported goods only, with a major reduction in the size of Federal Government would be in order.  However, we know that this will likely never happen.  Not as long as the liberals keep cultivating the socialist ideals that all wealth should be distributed by the government, with the government in full control of how much you are allowed to "Have" and how you can spend it.

It is time we, as Americans, wake up and smell what these liberal hate mongers are pushing, and realize that if and/or when we are to truly have equality among all our citizens, it isn't about how much we make a year, but being treated equally in the eyes of the law.  Jealousy and Envy are a society's biggest enemy, and its Achilles' Heel, if you will.  We must teach and preach the virtues of working for what you get and not the illusion that we are somehow entitled to a living just because we were born.  We all have many different attributes that can help us succeed, and it is up to us to make it happen with what we have, but it is not nor has it ever been the purpose of Government to see that we have anything other than fair and equal treatment under the law of the land.  Thus we should never favor penalize anyone for be successful, as long as it isn't illegal.  Being "Rich" or "Wealthy" isn't a crime, in and of itself.

One last and often the most over-looked point, it is that 1 - 5 % of the taxpayer base that takes their wealth and invests in the building of new factors, malls, restaurants, and so on, that provides NEW JOBS for all those still trying to make it.  Naturally, when these people have more money, they are able to expand their businesses or increase their investments in the various companies out there, that in turns give the companies more capital to build new building and provide all sorts of new jobs for the rest of us.  Why we, the blue collar workers or the poor, should recent the fact that the owners or investors will be enriched as a result of a successful venture, is nothing more than jealousy and envy at its worst.  I had rather some rich guy be rich than see this Behemoth of a Government take it and waste it by sending it over seas to prop up some 3rd world dictator.  If you aren't rich and/or successful, and decide to start pointing the blame finger at someone else, remember that 3 fingers are pointing back at YOU!  They main thing that keeps us from being all that we can be, is ourselves.
